As a human resources (HR) coordinator working with Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF), you can help ensure access to lifesaving healthcare for people in need. MSF HR coordinators:

  • create and review HR policies
  • supervise and train staff

Responsibilities include advising on a wide variety of HR issues, liaising with external parties, and personnel administration. As part of the country management team, HR coordinators represent MSF and cooperate with other non-governmental organizations and national authorities on relevant issues.

Essential requirements:

  • relevant degree or diploma in HR management and administration
  • minimum two years relevant post qualification work experience
  • proven practical experience in HR management (including development of HRpolicies and principles)
  • ability to understand and function in different legal environments
  • proven ability to work as part of a senior management team, including project planning responsibilities
  • available to work nine to 12 months
  • experience supervising and training others
  • strong command of English
  • relevant travel or work experience in a developing country or remote parts of Canada

Desirable criteria:

  • masters degree in HR management
  • experience in revising salary grids and implementation of other HR projects
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office and various HR software
  • knowledge of other languages, especially French and Arabic
